The story of Virotea

Virotea was born in 2018 from a conversation between founder Ivan Perlesi and his father, a specialist in psychiatry. An idea took shape: to use VR to open doors to the world, even for those who cannot leave their homes. With ViroteaVR, care recipients became travelers, and the community found new places to grow.

In 2022, we took the next step: education. In collaboration with Karlstad Municipality, we created ViroteaED, where staff step into the reality of others and learn to respond with greater understanding.

Today, our tools are used by municipalities, healthcare providers and schools throughout the country.
We continue to pursue our vision: to improve the quality of life and create safer care, through technology that matters.
