How does it work?

ViroteaED is adapted for healthcare and should be seen as a complement to traditional healthcare education. The skills development is suitable for all types of healthcare functions and employment forms, such as permanent staff, new employees, summer temporary workers and management team. Delivery of the VR glasses takes only 2-4 days from order, and after that we arrange a start-up meeting either in person or digitally with a representative from the Virotea team. After that, the business itself (supervisor) is responsible for training its staff with the help of Virotea support.

Who is conducting the training?

You are responsible for training your staff according to your wishes and needs. We provide VR glasses with pre-recorded films, course materials and support, as well as tips and advice on how other customers use ViroteaED.

What is ViroteaED?

ViroteaED is a training tool designed for healthcare professionals. With ViroteaED, healthcare professionals experience the care recipient's perspective in a variety of common situations. This shift in perspective leads to increased awareness, empathy, and understanding, which in turn leads to improved staff response.

Is the content quality assured in any way?

The content and design of this VR-based training in hospitality has been carefully developed in collaboration with the Cognition Team and the Silvia Sisters in Karlstad Municipality. With their knowledge and experience in cognitive disabilities, they have quality-assured the VR training. The result is an educational experience that is both engaging and effective. Thanks to this collaboration, we can guarantee that the training gives participants tools and insights that are directly applicable in their daily work.

What is included in the package?

A training package includes two VR glasses with 4K resolution and high performance. The glasses contain 27 realistic scenarios for LSS, nursing homes and home care that illustrate when staff have both an adapted and a non-adapted approach to the care recipient in each situation. The training includes course material (the VR glasses with films) and discussion materials to help staff better apply the new knowledge.

Which areas of care are covered by ViroteaED?

ViroteaED is created for elderly care, LSS and home care and aims to support healthcare professionals in gaining an increased understanding of people with cognitive disabilities such as autism or dementia.

Does ViroteaED make you motion sick?

No, we have adapted the content to counteract this. The films are shot in a way that avoids excessive movement, which is what creates motion sickness.

Isn't VR very technical and complicated?

No, it's super simple! ViroteaED is designed to be as easy to use as possible, especially for those who have never tried Virtual Reality before. ViroteaED requires no hand controls, wires or sensors, but is controlled with a single button on the right side of the glasses.

How quickly is ViroteaED delivered?

Delivery takes approximately 2-4 days from order, but may take longer for larger orders.

Can I test the product before buying?

Absolutely! We offer a two-week free trial period, where you can test and evaluate the service in peace and quiet. After that, we send out a survey where participants can answer questions about their experience of ViroteaED, to facilitate the evaluation of ViroteaED. When the trial period is over, you return the VR equipment to us.

How many educational films are there in each area?

There are a total of 27 scenarios for LSS, elderly care and home care. All scenarios have been developed in consultation with the Silvia Sisters and the Cognition Team in Karlstad Municipality. Contact us if you want to know more!

Can you wear regular glasses under the VR glasses?

Yes, it is usually possible to use regular glasses with the VR glasses, but it depends on the size of the glasses.

How does it work?

The ViroteaVR package includes two VR glasses and a tablet. Using the tablet, the staff controls the experience displayed in the glasses, while the care recipient can sit back and immerse themselves in the experience. ViroteaVR can be used as a group activity - many people appreciate the conversations that arise!

Don't you get motion sick?

We have designed the experience in a way that minimizes motion sickness by not shifting the perspective, meaning that the camera is stationary in all videos. It is often movement that causes motion sickness.

What is ViroteaVR?

ViroteaVR is a Virtual Reality-based tool that targets special accommodations, daily activities, dementia homes and other forms of accommodation within elderly care and LSS. With ViroteaVR, care recipients can travel virtually and experience the world without leaving the safety of their homes.

What content is there?

ViroteaVR's media library contains over 1,800 images and films featuring concerts, guided tours and other attractions from all corners of the world.

Can you wear regular glasses under the VR glasses?

In most cases, there is no problem wearing regular glasses under VR glasses, but this of course depends on the size of the glasses.

What makes ViroteaVR unique?

Simplicity! Staff only need to click on an image or video on the provided tablet to start a VR experience. What's more, everything is in Swedish.

How do you clean your glasses?

It is okay to use rubbing alcohol on the VR headset's face pads. The lenses can be cleaned with a dry cloth or microfiber cloth.
