
Reality Lab & KTC
Introduction
The Reality Lab strives to promote research in the environment where interventions are planned. Through close collaboration and short decision-making paths, they enable innovative research and projects in collaboration with users, staff, entrepreneurs, researchers and students. The goal is to offer a realistic development environment for tests in gender-equal welfare technology, digitalization, and the development of care and housing forms.
Clinical Training Center (KTC) supports practical training for healthcare professionals, students and pupils. Through simulators and experienced staff, the skills for high-quality healthcare are developed.
Purpose
The Reality Lab and KTC wanted to investigate the user experience of ViroteaED and VR training in dealing with people with cognitive impairments to strengthen staff learning.
Objective
Evaluate the user experience and improvement opportunities for ViroteaED and VR training.
Analyze the customer process and Virotea's involvement in starting up new customers.
Comparing users' self-perceived learning with VR glasses and theoretical training.
Method
20-week pilot project with elderly care and LSS group housing. Evaluation through a survey in connection with the training.
Project team
The project is led by the Reality Lab in the Enskede-Årsta-Vantörs district administration. The project partner is Virotea AB. The test environment is KTC.
Results
Successfully completed project with satisfied participants who believe that VR training improves learning. The majority prefer VR compared to theoretical training. Managers of employees who participated in the training also considered it good for increasing learning. KTC and Virotea collaborated smoothly according to both participants and project management.
